What is CWDM

CWDM stands for course wavelength division multiplexing, CWDM is a technologies used in optical fiber network to transmit multiple signals on different wavelengths of light across a single strand of fiber cable.

The full CWDM spectrum stretches total 18 channels from 1270nm to 1610nm, with step 20nm. As for physical characteristics of fiber cable, the lower CWDM range can be limited in some applications, Therefore, you’re often better off using the 8 channels between 1470nm to 1610nm.
